This is life (yang kita impikan)

Last weekend, we balik kampung and we dropped by at this one stall (near Masjid Jamek Kampar). If we have time, we usually go to this stall as the mee kari is to die for. And the ABC is equally sinful. But they normally don't do business over the weekend. But last weekend, it was opened and I quickly swung into its parking lot. Yipee! And we ordered these...

Teh Ais - RM1.00 and Mee Kari - RM2.50
Mee Soup - RM2.50
ABC - RM1.50
Enjoying the food sampai tak ingat suami
Note the prices????? Giler right? Naturally I was stumped when they presented me with the bill. Even Arissa's Milo Ais was only RM1.20!!!!! Aaaah the good old life!!!!

Happy Birthday Mak!

Mak and my Cinta (last August)

My Mak turns 73 today. And I feel bad for not being able to organise anything for her. This son needs to buck up, certainly.

To Mak,

"Many Happy Returns! Try to relax and have fun, okay? And yes, makan ler apa jua yang teringin dihati. Tak payah pantang-pantang ler!!!"

Love,
A'a.

A King and a Poor Man

Dear All,
Sometimes story like this one (below) will simply sweep you away and you'll be deeply affected. More often than not, we need such reminders so much so we know that at the end of it all... it doesn't matter. This one is for all of us. It doesn't matter.

"There was a king who decided to take a tour of his country. As he passed by different places, everyone rushed to see him. However, while passing by a certain place, he noticed a poor old man who did not pay any attention to the king's arrival and remained engaged in his own activities.
The king went up to this poor man and asked why he did not join the people to see him.
The poor man replied, "Before you, there was another king who once passed by this place. Everyone gathered to see him as well. But, few days later he died and was buried in a place nearby. Another poor man also died during that time and was buried near the king's grave. After some time, a strong flood passed through that area causing those graves to overturn. As a result, the bones of the poor man became mixed up with those of the king's. We could not differentiate between them any longer. After seeing this, it does not matter to me anymore as to who is a king and who is a beggar. In the end, our home is the same.”

Narrated by brother Ayyub from Toronto, Canada during one of his lectures.

Another Cucu... Mohammad Aiddil Affian

Wow, they do coming in fast, don't they?
A few days ago, we welcomed another cucu - this time it's Affan's and Ila's first born - Mohammad Aiddil Affian. Affan is Yan's nephew. This time a boy. And again with a no so easy name to remember. We went over Ila's last night to see the little baby.... aaah and the Tantes were over the moon and went all cair. (and the Tantes informed me that tante is actually what the Dutch called their aunts .. so not really Indonesian lah)
But when we asked them whether they want a baby in the house, the answer is a resounding no!! Hahahaha.
Like Baby Nia, Baby Ian pun kuat tidur jugakkkkk

Next up? Faizah's and Azham's due in September. Can't wait ......

In Malaysia ....... and in Spain

In Malaysia -
The political power struggle is getting really ridiculous, no? The drama that unfolded over the weekend was really upsetting. If you ask me... I say, I don't believe it! Just like 10 years ago. This time around, I'll give them "A" for trying but "F" for creativity.
Please ..... don't we Malaysians have bigger tasks at hand .... as it is the rakyat are jumping up and down trying to "ubah gaya hidup" in order to accommodate the escalating cost of living, among others.

In Spain -
Wow! They are the European Champion. Their rakyat are jumping up and down too as they celebrate the occasion. Such a happy mood.
Although I did not really follow the European Championships (as in my family only my brother and brother in law are kaki bola ... the rest of brothers, uncles, nephews are not, imagine that?), I must say the Spaniards deserve it.
I came home early yesterday and there was a repeat of the final on 817 (alas the last 10 minutes). But I would like to share a conversation between me and Yan while we were watching the event:
Yan: Sepanyol menang ker?
Me: Yup. 1-0
Yan: Kalahkan sapa?
Me: Germany.... tu yang tengah bersedih kat tengah-tengah padang. (shots showing the dejected Germans while the Spaniards celebrated with their fans)
Yan: Laaa, kenapa nak sedih... dapat nombor dua ok lar tu.
Me: Tapi tetap kalah kan?
Yan: Tapi dapat nombor dua kat World Cup macam ni bukan calang-calang accomplishment jugak lar kan?
Me: ???????? World Cup?
Yan: Ye lar bukan World Cup ker ni?
Me: (I was already tergolek-golek gelak by this time). Bukan lah ... European Cup ler!!!!!!

a while later after I stopped laughing my heads off .....

Yan: Oooh patut ler tak da Malaysia main.
Me: (tergolek-golek again...... hahahahahahaha)

(P.S: Yan is soooo gonna kill me for posting this entry)
